A Beginner-Friendly, 9-Day Joinery Course
Join a professional timber framing crew as you lay out, cut, assemble, and raise a 20′ × 36′ white pine boat barn in Rockland, Maine. By the end of the course, you’ll understand the fundamentals of timber frame design, engineering, material selection, layout, and traditional joinery—and you’ll have gained practical experience with the tools and techniques used by experienced timber framers.
Shunney Timberworks is a small timber frame shop in Jefferson County, West Virginia, specializing in custom timber outbuildings and timber frame roof trusses.
A licensed general contractor in WV and MD, we are able to provide full contracting services to build your timber frame structure.
Our mission is to craft creative spaces for families and communities using centuries-old joinery techniques (mortise and tenon pegged connections) and natural and sustainable materials (WOOD!)
